Events Director: Kathryn Jason, Tufts University ’19

Kathryn is a Political Science major at Tufts with a passion for women’s issues, intersectional advocacy, and public policy. She’s the former Legislative Chair of the Women’s Caucus and a Vice President of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. In addition, she has served as a United States Senate Page, worked as a Fellow on the Hillary campaign, and chaired the Issues of the Future Symposium planning committee with the Tufts Democrats her freshman year. As Events Director, she hopes to increase collaboration between chapters and CDM as a whole, ensure that new and small chapters are given the resources they need, and to create events that empower members to broaden the scope of their perspectives and their activism. . Kathryn is excited to work with the Women’s Caucus this year and to work to further women’s rights in Massachusetts and beyond!

Deputy Events Director: Matthew Cubetus, Suffolk University ’19

Matthew is a Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) and History double-major at Suffolk, dedicated to homelessness prevention and alleviation, labor issues, and international relations. Matt has served as an intern for Matt Terry for State Representative, State Representative Carole Fiola, and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. He also serves his hometown of Sandwich, MA as a member of the planning board and a teller at town meeting. He has been an active member of various political campaigns, including Bob Massie for Governor and Bernie Sanders for President. Matt wants to work with the rest of the CDM board and individual chapters to bring exciting programming opportunities to every campus. He seeks to capitalize on the new enthusiasm and energy created by the Trump era to recruit more activists into CDM and having young people lead the charge of the resistance—it’s our time to shine.
