Finance Director, Rohit Bachani, Boston College ’19
Rohit Bachani is from Manalapan, New Jersey, and his favorite Democrat is Associate Justice William J. Brennan Jr. Rohit is a member of Boston College’s Class of 2019, and is majoring in finance and political science while pursuing a minor in history; his interests include playing tennis and squash, hiking, reading books on the judiciary, and traveling. Rohit’s interest in government is rooted in his fascination with the ability of politics to mold legal institutions and effectuate solutions in tandem with the rule of law — this interest has informed Rohit’s academic and co-curricular interests on campus and beyond. He is currently a research assistant for Boston College’s Department of Political Science and is studying the historical development and current status of the grand jury system. In the fall of 2016, he served as an intern at ActBlue, a fundraising platform for progressives, and worked with donors and campaigns across the nation to help them bolster their fundraising efforts. Rohit is additionally passionate about policy research and recently presented a proposal to combat opioid abuse in MA at the Massachusetts State House, leveraging analyses of state-wide substance abuse relief funding efforts and incarceration data. He’s honored to have the opportunity to serve CDM as Finance Director, and hopes to utilize his experiences managing accounts and cash flow for BC Mock Trial, the College Democrats of Boston College, and the AHANA Pre-Law Student Association, as well as his experience as CDM’s 2016-17 Deputy Finance Director, to implement a fiscally accessible and accountable CDM that meets the needs of its ever-expanding constituency.
