Regional Directors

Welcome to our Regional Directors page! These leaders represent chapters in the Boston Region, Central Region, Eastern Region, South Shore Region, and the Western Region. In order to contact our leaders, please click on the icons at the bottom of each bio.

Boston Regional Director: Caroline Brantley, Boston University

Caroline Brantley studies Political Science and Spanish at Boston University, where she is particularly interested in international politics, public health policy, and women’s issues and involvement in politics. This past summer, she experienced winter as she lived both in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand, where she worked in campaign organizing for two incredible female politicians of the New Zealand Labour Party. She also volunteered for the Clinton campaign, worked as a Senate page in the Louisiana State Capitol, and continues to serve as an Alumna Advisor to the Louisiana Youth and Government program, which seeks to inspire and engage high school students in the political process. On campus, Caroline is Treasurer of BU College Democrats, and she regularly gives campus tours as an Admissions Ambassador. She also loves traveling, exploring Boston’s wonderful museums and shops, and eating too much pasta in the North End.

Eastern Regional Director: Jaya Khetarpal, Tufts University

Jaya Khetarpal is a blue girl from the red state of Texas where her democratic beliefs and liberal values grew strong amidst numerous challengers. Before moving to Boston to attend Tufts University, Jaya participated in Juniors Statesman of America, serving as a Publicity Agent on the state cabinet and the Publicity Chair of her school’s chapter where she worked on numerous projects promoting awareness about human trafficking and women’s rights. Along with pursuing an International Relations Major and Child Development minor, Jaya volunteers for Generation Citizen-an organization that works to promote civic engagement and empower young individuals to become engaged and effective citizens-, is campaign coordinator for Tufts for Hillary, and an active member of Tufts Democrats planning board. Jaya served as a fellow on the Hillary Clinton Campaign in New Hampshire and volunteered on the campaigns of Windy Davis and Maggie Hassan. Currently, Jaya is interning in the Trial Division at Attorney General Maura Healey’s office and spends her free time tutoring children through Child Health Services and volunteering with the coordinated campaign effort in Manchester, NH. Jaya is committed to putting democrats into office up and down the ticket on both the state and national level and hopes to expand the College Democrats chapter base and promote more inter-collegiate events.

Eastern Deputy Regional Director: Riann Tang, Wellesley

Riann is a sophomore at Wellesley College hailing from Lebanon, New Hampshire. Her favorite Democrat is Huma Abedin. Growing up in a swing state, home to the first in the nation primary, she has always been surrounded by politics. Her first foray into elections was as a volunteer with the Obama campaign in 2012. Since then, she has continued to be heavily involved in Democratic politics. This winter, she was a fellow with Hillary for New Hampshire and this summer she is doing campaign work with the Blue Lab. On campus, Riann is the Organizing Director of Wellesley Students for Hillary as well as a member of Wellesley Whiptails Ultimate Frisbee and Model UN. When she's not avidly watching CNN, you can find Riann catching up on Grey's Anatomy and Madame Secretary.

Central Regional Director: Kate Cable-Murphy, Clark University

Western Regional Director: Anton Tikhomirov, UMass Amherst

"I am a rising Senior at UMass Amherst. My first involvement in Democratic activism was volunteering to canvass for Elizabeth Warren's campaign against Scott Brown. Fall of 2014, I interned on Martha Coakley's campaign for governor. I joined UMass Democrats my first semester at UMass, and was previously membership coordinator. I am also involved in UMass Student Government."
